Sunflower Shaped Pastry

葵花酥 Sunflower Shaped Pastry

So after my Chrysanthemum shaped pastry with azuki paste filling, I decided to give this traditional Chinese pastry a twist by using filling mixed with match and sweet mung bean paste plus a different shape for differentiation. And I love the result! Freshly out of oven, this green filling gives a really tasty flavor layered with aroma of matcha and sweet mung bean paste while the flaky puff pastry gives a delightful texture all in one bite. The other two with black sesames on top are made with azuki paste and match, however, I really think match and sweet mung bean paste complement very well. Lovely and very tasty!
